Abschlussprojekt 2015: ANDERERSEITS

Abschlussprojekt 2015 – Andererseits – Contemporary Dance School Hamburg

The graduates of all three Contemporary Dance School Hamburg (CDSH) years are delighted to welcome you to their final project. Performances will take place in the Hamburger Sprechwerk, Klaus-Groth-Strasse 23. In cooperation with school director, Javier Báez, and artistic director, Raul Valdez, choreographers Ursina Tossi, Javier Báez, Tomislav Jelicic and Fiona Gordon have created pieces with the first and second-year students.

Third-year students will present two choreographies by Raul Valdez as well as pieces by two well-known international guest choreographers: Teresa Ranieri from Lisbon and Idan Sharabi from Tel Aviv, both of whom have been awarded numerous prizes and work all over the world.

Every year a new guiding theme runs through all the choreographies. This year the theme is ANDERERSEITS. A term that leaves various directions open, presents opportunities not to lose sight of the goal, which however does not exclude being on the wrong track. ANDERERSEITS is a term that stands for contradiction, for something else, for alternatives that must always be available – in life as in dance. For the dancers at CDSH it is an invitation to unfold their creative potential.

The first and second-year students will perform the pieces they have created with the choreographers on July 3 and 4 at 8 pm, and on July 5, at 6 pm. A special extra on all three evenings will be the choreography created together with third-year graduates by Tomislac Jelicic.

The third-year graduates will perform their pieces from July 9 to July 12. The performances will start at 8 pm on July 9, 10 and 11, and at 4 pm on July 12.
